Do you have a sideshow banner that has large holes, rips or canvas in poor condition? We offer restoration services to conserve and stabilize antique sideshow banners so that they can survive for decades to come. Due to their age, many original sideshow banners are in very poor condition that include torn canvas or holes from various wear during their lifetime. With careful expertise, these issues can be remedied without harming the value or condition of the banner.
We only offer conservation restoration, not total restoration. This is limited to repairing and in-painting holes, repairing large or small rips to stabilize and repairing corner ring straps or other non repaint restoration services.

Sideshow Banner Repair and Restoration

We recently finished a conservation restoration on a very large Snap Wyatt doorway banner that had over 20 holes of various sizes throughout the banner. In the above photo you can see that the image of Bob Melvin, the Two Face Man had several large holes in the in the central part of the banner. Each hole was carefully patched from the back with a method that will not show through the front. After all patches were complete, they were all in-painted so that the holes drew less attention, bringing the banner back to most of its former glory. The goal with these restorations is to bring the banner from a mangled piece of cloth, to a fantastic piece of art like it once was. We will never provide overpainting services that fill in missing paint on existing canvas and or cover original paint from the original artist. This service would significantly decrease the value of the banner and frankly ruin it. Contact us today if you have a banner you need repaired or restored.
